Buying Puppies For Sale

S. Gene Petsame

I remember the first time that my dad took us to get puppies for sale.

I had been wanting a new dog for sale for some time.

My mom was pretty suspicious about pounds. She did not believe in adopting a puppy. It wasn't that she had a cruel heart, but that she wasn't sure where those dogs had been and was very protective of her kids.

When she grew up, after all, you still had to watch out for dogs having rabies. She lived on a farm, and stray dogs could be bad news.

Getting a puppy for sale was not something to be taken lightly in my family. My parents had never let us have pets until that point. We were pretty responsible, but they believed that we had to prove ourselves before we could be trusted to take care of an animal.

After all, too many kids buy pets for sale, only to realize too late what is involved. You have to take a dog out for walks, feed it, clean up after it, train it, and handle dozens of other minor chores. It is immoral to buy puppies for sale if you are not prepared to take the responsibility.

I hadn't known what kind of puppies for sale I wanted. I was pretty sure that I wanted to get a big dog, but my parents thought that it would be too much work to deal with one.

When I got there, however, I found a golden retriever for sale that I absolutely fell in love with. It was an absolutely beautiful dog. On top of that, it was one of the friendliest animals I had ever met.

All thoughts of great Danes, Huskies, and other large breeds was gone from my mind immediately. My parents, needless to say, were quite happy.

When last week I took my kids to look at puppies for sale, I remembered the excitement that I had the first time I had gotten to pick out my own pet dog.

It was really exciting to see them feel the same thing. Sometimes it is nice to see that, in this world where so much is new, some things always remain the same. The joy that a young child feels when they get their first pet dog or cat is something that remains constant generation after generation, just as it should.

Unfortunately, the frustration that parents feel when those kids fail to take care of those pets remains the same as well. Oh well. I'll take the good with the bad!
